This prestigious sporting event marks the first World Cup in roller skiing hosted by Sweden since 2016, following Kazakhstan's withdrawal due to financial and logistical difficulties.

The announcement was made after a FIS meeting in Portugal, where Lars Öberg, the length manager at the Swedish Ski Federation, expressed enthusiasm about this opportunity to showcase rolling skiing in Sweden. Öberg noted that the hosting not only reflects the growing interest in the sport, but it also sets the stage for future events. The World Cup will feature multiple competitions, including a sprint on the first day, the classic Alliansloppet over 48 km on the second day, and an individual distance race in classical style on the final day.
