Ljudaborg Kulturförening is gearing up for the premiere of 'Oknyttens karta,' a new play inspired by the medieval history of Lödöse, which takes place in the 1240s. This theatrical production, blending elements of folklore, will open on May 30 and run until June 15, with performances hosted at the outdoor scene behind Lödöse museum.
Directed by experienced theatre veteran Iwar Bergkwist, who boasts a notable career with GöteborgsOperan and Stora Teatern, this marks his first venture into amateur theatre. In terms of audience engagement, Bergkwist noted, "It is not Strindberg, but rather offers light-hearted entertainment that suits a broad audience," indicating that the production is designed for family enjoyment.
The script is crafted by Micaela Lyrehed Edwartz, and the ensemble features around 25 actors who have been rehearsing intensively since late last year. With ten shows scheduled, the premiere is poised to provide an engaging glimpse into Lödöse's historical landscape through a charming and accessible narrative.
