Fredrik Lundgren, known as Nytorgsmannen, is currently facing serious charges of aggravated rape at Lund District Court, having denied all allegations during the trial proceedings. The case stems from an incident that allegedly occurred in October 2024, involving a 17-year-old girl who prosecutors claim was drugged and assaulted.

During the first court sessions, which are closed to the public due to the sensitive nature of the charges, it was revealed that Lundgren provided the victim with alcohol laced with narcotics. The prosecution, led by Anders Stridh, stressed that the severity of the crime is amplified by the victim's age and the circumstances under which the alcohol was consumed. The victim’s legal team is seeking 320,000 Swedish kronor in damages if Lundgren is convicted.

Lundgren, who has a troubling criminal history, had previously served five years for sexual offenses, many of which took place in his apartment located at Nytorget, Södermalm in Stockholm. He was conditionally released in spring 2024 but was later arrested in Skåne for suspected sexual crimes before this latest trial.

In his defense, Lundgren acknowledges having provided alcohol and drugs to the victim but firmly denies the charges of aggravated rape, insisting on his innocence. The trial's closed doors reflect the gravity of the case, with the proceedings focusing heavily on the allegations against him, as they evolve within a context fraught with serious implications for all parties involved.
