Luleå is poised for a vibrant summer in 2025, as it will host a series of festivals catering to diverse audiences. The festivities will kick off with the popular RIX FM festival on July 10. Following this, the city will introduce a new festival named 'Under solen' starting July 11, which aims to entertain all age groups with a range of activities including local music, food trucks, and family-friendly events. According to event organizer Örjan Esensjö, 'Under solen' will feature performances from artists such as Markus Krunegård and Huggorm, alongside relaxing jazz and blues in the evening. Notably, the festival will also include a new dedicated stage for local musicians at Köpmantorget and designated areas for street musicians along Storgatan.
In addition to these, a new youth festival called 'Splash' will take place on August 8-9 at Södra hamnplan, showcasing popular artists such as Veronica Maggio and Victor Leksell. This lively event will also involve a competition featuring SM in death jumps. Furthermore, Luleå will celebrate a Thaifestival in Stadsparken, reflecting Thai culture through dance, food, and boxing demonstrations. August will also see Hov1's farewell tour, the five-year anniversary of the Skurstocksfestival, and the LÅ Vibe festival in Råneå and Antnäs. The summer festivities will culminate in a Pride festival featuring Silvana Imam, paired with an international food market, promoting community spirit and inclusivity.
