In the recent 2025 municipal attractiveness ranking by Tidningen Fokus, Lidingö has achieved a remarkable feat, securing the highest score of 5 out of 5 for its public economy, making it the only municipality in Sweden to do so. Despite a slight dip in overall ranking to 8th place out of 290 municipalities and dropping from last year’s 4th position, Lidingö continues to shine within the Stockholm region, now ranking third.

The municipality garnered a total score of 88.3 out of 100 and excelled particularly in healthcare, where it received a score of 4.7. Job opportunities also stood out with a score of 4.3, followed by infrastructure, earning a 4.2 rating. However, a concerning trend was noted in the private finance category, where Lidingö's score fell from 2.0 to 1.8, reflecting challenges faced in the Stockholm area's financial landscape.

Tidningen Fokus's ranking assesses municipalities across nine criteria, including education, safety, service, and leisure. Lidingö's significant economic performance reflects its commitment to enhancing living conditions for its residents, even amidst broader regional economic challenges.
