Lantmännen Unibake has announced a substantial investment of approximately 700 million kronor into constructing a new production facility for hot dog and hamburger buns in Örebro, Sweden. The new facility, expected to cover around 13,000 square meters, aims to bolster production capabilities to satisfy rising demand in the market. Today, the existing Örebro facility is recognized as one of Europe's largest specialized bakeries, with a production capacity exceeding two million buns per day.

Currently, the facility employs around 200 individuals, although no immediate job increases are anticipated from this investment.

Construction is expected to commence in autumn 2025, with completion slated for 2027, coinciding with the recent opening of a new freezer storage facility in 2023. Jonas Lindell, the CEO of Lantmännen Unibake, confirmed the schedule of the construction, reinforcing the company's commitment to local manufacturing and employment stability.

Overall, this investment is a significant step towards enhancing local manufacturing capabilities and addressing the increasing consumer needs for quality baked goods.
