The Konst i Ån 2025 exhibition is set to launch a fresh chapter in the world of contemporary art, emphasizing innovative expressions and targeting a younger audience. The event will be inaugurated on June 27, 2025, at 12 PM in Gustaf II Adolfs park, Norrtälje, under the joint organization of Kollektivet Livet and Norrtälje konsthall.
Featured art forms will include mural painting, reverse graffiti, wheat paste, crocheted graffiti, sculptures, and tapestries, with Julia Rio spearheading the mural project alongside five local summer workers. Notably, Rio will also present two of her original artworks during the exhibition.
The opening ceremony will feature prominent speeches from Helén Hedensjö, director of Norrtälje konsthall, and Jacob Christman, chairman of the Culture and Leisure Committee, along with live music by Mats Karlsson and a performance by artist Moa Matilda Nilsson. Attendees will have the opportunity to join a guided tour led by curator Jimmy Gustafsson and participating artists after the ceremony.
Additionally, from June 12 to 18, the performance group MYCKET will create art out of an old tree at Zetterstenska park, showcasing transformative live art practices. During the summer, guided tours will be held every Saturday from July 6 to August 10, starting at Norrtälje konsthall, along with a family-friendly crossword puzzle themed around the exhibition to encourage exploration and engagement among visitors.
