Based on the popular children’s books by Martin Widmark, this exhibition encourages young attendees to immerse themselves in the fictional town of Valleby, solving mysteries alongside characters Lasse and Maja.
Emmy Gustafsson Wass, the event manager, highlighted the initiative’s goal to foster a love for reading among children, stating, “We aim to provide accessible and free options for families during the summer.” The opening ceremony is set for June 17 at 1:00 PM, featuring free performances from local groups such as UngHästen and Kulturskolan. Light refreshments will also be available to create an inviting atmosphere for families.
Katarina Kling Löfbom, a librarian at Stadsbiblioteket, expressed that experiences like this spark children's curiosity and open new worlds of imagination, describing the exhibition as a means to engage young readers.
The exhibition marks a significant commitment by Sara Kulturhus to social sustainability, ensuring that cultural and educational activities remain free and accessible to families in the community throughout the summer months.
