On June 1, 2025, the Delleforsstipendiet, a newly established scholarship for graduating opera students, was awarded for the first time to mezzosoprano Sally Lundgren at the University of Performing Arts (HSM) in Gothenburg. The scholarship, valued at 75,000 kronor, was created following a 500,000 kronor donation from the late opera singer Margareta Dellefors, who passed away in 2024. This initiative aims to support and sustain the careers of young opera talent in Sweden.

Lundgren was chosen from several candidates during a competitive audition held at the Gothenburg Opera, where she impressed the jury by performing arias from Jonathan Dove’s "Flight" and Johannes Brahms’ "Von ewiger Liebe." The jury comprised notable figures from both the Gothenburg Opera and the Royal Academy of Music, including Henning Ruhe, the artistic director of opera/drama.

Monica Danielson, the program manager for opera education at HSM, emphasized the importance of the scholarship, stating that it honors Dellefors' legacy and aims to uplift emerging talents in the opera field. The Delleforsstipendiet is set to be awarded every two years, ensuring continuous support for new opera graduates from HSM.
