Cirkus Cirkör Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Show

Cirkus Cirkör is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with the premiere of an exciting new show titled "The Extraordinary History of Circus". The show, in collaboration with Uppsala stadsteater, will debut on July 26, 2025, at a specially constructed theater tent in Gottsunda, and will run until August 13, 2025.

The production promises to be a vibrant exploration of circus history, journeying from its punk origins through various historical eras. Five talented artists will perform, creatively engaging with the audience while navigating the narrative of circus arts. The show is tailored for children aged five and older and offers free admission, though attendees must secure tickets in advance.

In a unique twist to the celebration, Cirkus Cirkör is involving local communities in the production process. This collaboration will include contributions from local actors and community groups, notably including a local football team, which will assist behind the scenes.

Following its initial run, "The Extraordinary History of Circus" will embark on a tour across Sweden, with performances scheduled for major cities including Malmö, Stockholm, and Göteborg in 2026. This tour aims to bring the performance to a broader audience, continuing the legacy of engaging and thought-provoking circus entertainment.
